A Prayer
O God, who didst vouchsafe to communicate so great grace to Saint Rita that she imitated Thine example in the love of enemies and bore in her heart and on her countenance the sacred marks of Thy love and passion: grant, we beseech Thee by her merits and intercession, that we may love our enemies and ever contemplate with deep contrition the sorrows of Thy Passion: Who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.

Prayer to St. Rocco
O great St. Rocco, deliver us, we beseech thee, from the scourges of God; through thy intercession, preserve our bodies from contagious diseases, and our souls from the contagion of sin. Obtain for us salubrious air; but, above all, purity of heart.
Assist us to make good use of
health, to bear sufferings with patience; and, after thy example, to live in the practice of penance and charity, that we may one day enjoy the happiness which thou has merited by thy virtues.
St. Rocco, pray for us - 3 times. E734-536
Prayer to
St. Rose of Lima
O Saint Rose,
you were filled with
the love of God who enabled you to leave the world and be free for
Him through the austerity of penance.
Please help me to follow in your footsteps on earth
so to enjoy the torrent of God’s delights in heaven with you. Amen.

Prayer to St. Sebastian (Patron of Athletes)
Dear Commander at the Roman Emperor’s court, you chose to be also a soldier of Christ and dared to spread faith in the King of Kings, for which you were condemned to die. Your body, however, proved athletically strong and the executing arrows extremely weak. So another means to kill you was chosen and you gave your life to the Lord. May athletes be always as strong in their faith as their Patron Saint so clearly has been. Amen.

Prayer to Martyrs Sts. Sophia, Faith, Hope, & Love
Saint Sophia you did blossom in the courts of the Lord
as a fruitful olive tree,
O holy Martyr Sophia;
in your contest you did offer to Christ the sweet fruit
of your womb,
Love, Hope and Faith, your daughters.
With them intercede for us all. Amen

Saint Stephen
We give you thanks,
O Lord of glory,
for the example
of the first martyr who looked up to heaven and prayed
for his persecutors
to Your Son Jesus Christ, who stands at
Your right hand, where He lives and reigns with You and
the Holy Spirit, One God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

Prayer to St. Vincent
O glorious Saint Vincent, heavenly patron of all charitable associations and father of all who are in misery, while thou was on earth thou didst never cast out any who came to thee; ah, consider by what evils we are oppressed and come to our assistance! Obtain from thy Lord help for the poor, relief for the infirm, consolation for the afflicted, protection for the abandoned, a spirit of generosity for the rich, the grace of conversion for sinners, zeal for priests, peace for the Church, tranquillity and order for all nations, and salvation for them all. Yea, let all men prove the effects of thy merciful intercession, so that, being helped by thee in the miseries of this life, we may be united to thee in the life to come, where there shall be no more grief, nor weeping, nor sorrow, but joy and gladness and everlasting happiness. Amen.
An indulgence of 300 days. H734-562
St. William the
Confessor Prayer
St. William,
you were a father to your monks and a shepherd to your people. Pray for us that we might have our sight restored - that we might see with the eyes of our hearts and souls, God’s presence in and around us.
Teach us to nourish our spiritual journeys with prayer so that we too might be instruments of God’s light and love to others.
In the spirit of St. Benedict help us to be people of hospitality who let our work become prayer.
Let us find God in each other. Amen.

Prayer for
Blessed John Paul II
God our Heavenly Father, you called John Paul II to be chief shepherd of your people as Pope of the Holy Catholic Church. He guided us with the most loving care while he was with us in this world. He is now with you in paradise. Grant, by your gracious will, that he be an intercessor for us who journey through life in your pilgrim church. May the Blessed Mother of God, Mary Most Holy, whom John Paul was so devoted to, be our hope and our strength as she was for him. Eternal Father, John Paul II taught us the deep value of the human person as he traveled throughout the world spreading your message of peace and eternal salvation. He showed us the value of the Cross by the way he lived. John Paul II defended life in all stages, from the womb to the elderly and preached the sanctity of life. May we come to know these truths and live them as he did with undying faith, hope and love. We make our prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen

Prayer for the Pope
God, our Father,
we ask You to look with mercy and love on Your servant, Francis, whom You have chosen to govern Your Church
and shepherd Your people. May he, through word
and through example, direct, sustain and encourage the people in his care so that with them he may share everlasting life in Your kingdom. Amen.
May the Lord preserve
our Holy Father, Francis.
May He give him life and protect him in this life and reserve for him the reward of the just. Amen.

Prayer for Children
God, our Father,
we thank You for the gift of love and the gift of life.
We thank You for the gift of our children. We ask You to send Your holy angels to protect and guide them each day
so that they will walk
the narrow path of purity, self-control and obedience,
as was taught to us by Your own Son, Jesus Christ.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord, in union with the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

          A Single-Parent’s Prayer
Lord, grant me
Time Enough
to do all the chores,
join in the games,
help with the lessons, and say the night prayers and still have a few moments left over for me... Energy Enough
to be bread-baker and breadwinner, knee-patcher and peacemaker, ballplayer and bill-juggler... Hands Enough
to wipe away the tears,
to reach out when I’m needed,
to hug and to hold,
to tickle and touch...
Heart Enough
to share and to care,
to listen and to understand, and to make a loving home
for my family.

Prayer
to obtain favors
Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold.
In that hour vouchsafe,
O my God! to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ,
and of His blessed Mother. Amen.

Dear Jesus,
thank you for my Holy Communion.
Through the Mass You come to us as You came on the first Christmas.

and prayerful at Mass. Come to me and remain with me all the days of my life. Amen.
