               Communion Prayer
Dear Jesus,
thank you for my Holy Communion.
Through the Mass You come to us as You came on the first Christmas.
In the Mass You repeat the wonderful Sacrifice of Calvary. During the Mass You give Yourself to me in Holy Communion. Dear Jesus,
help me love Holy Communion. Make me thoughtful
and prayerful at Mass. Come to me and remain with me all the days of my life. Amen.

O, Holy Spirit,
beloved of my soul,
I adore You. Enlighten me, guide me, strengthen me, console me. Tell me what I should do ... give me Your orders.
I promise to submit myself to all that You desire of me and to accept all that You permit to happen to me. Let me only know Your will.

          Prayer for those in
the service
Almighty God,
we stand before You asking for Your divine mercy and protection.
Embrace with Your invincible armour our loved ones in all branches of the service.
Give them courage
and strength against all enemies both spiritual and physical and hasten their safe journey back to their homes and families. Amen.
Police Officer’s Prayer
to St. Michael
St. Michael, Heaven’s glorious Commis- sioner of Police, who once so neatly and successfully cleared God’s premises of all its undesirables, look with kindly and pro- fessional eye on your earthly force.
Give us cool heads, stout hearts, hard punches, an uncanny flair for investigation and wise judgment.
Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to boring people, strict with law-breakers and impervious to temp- tations.
You know, St. Michael, from your own experiences with the devil that the police- man’s lot on earth is not always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.
And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your Heavenly Force, where we will be as proud to guard the throne of God as we have been to guard the city of men. Amen.
Safely Home
I am home in Heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over, Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever, Safely home in Heaven at last. Did you wonder why I so calmly walk the valley of the shade? Oh! But Jesus’ love illumined every dark and fearful glade. And He came Himself to meet me In that way so hard to tread; And with Jesus’ arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread? Then you must not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth’s shadows, Pray to trust our Father’s Will. There is work still waiting for you, So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth- You shall rest in Jesus’ land. When that work is all completed, He will gently call you Home; Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come!

          I Said a Prayer
For You Yoday
I said a prayer for you today and know God must have heard I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word!
I didn’t ask for wealth or fame (I knew you wouldn’t mind)
I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind!
I asked that He’d be near you At the start of each new day To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way! I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all!

The Cross
in My Pocket
I carry a cross in my pocket
A simple reminder to me
of the fact that I am a Christian No matter where I may be. This little cross is not magic nor is it a good luck charm
It isn’t meant to protect me From every physical harm.
It’s not for identification
For all the world to see
It’s simply an understanding Between my Savior and me. When I put my hand in my pocket To bring out a coin or key
The cross is there to remind me Of the price He paid for me.
It reminds me, too, to be thankful For my blessings day by day And to strive to serve Him better In all that I do and say.
It’s also a daily reminder
Of the peace and comfort I share With all who know my Master And give themselves to His care. So, I carry a cross in my pocket Reminding no one but me That Jesus Christ is Lord of my life If only I’ll let Him be.
Don’t Quit
When things go wrong
as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re
trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low
and the debts are high
And you want to smile,
but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit Life is queer with its twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about When he might have won
had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow - You may succeed with another blow. Success is failure turned inside out - The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight
when you’re hardest hit -
It’s when things seem worst
that you must not quit.
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. “Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me”.
The Lord replied, “My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you”.
         St. Teresa of Avila
Let nothing disturb you; nothing frighten you. All things are passing. God never changes. Patience
obtains all things. Nothing is wanting to him who possesses God. God alone suffices.

Prayer to Saint
Thomas the Apostle
O Glorious Saint Thomas, your grief for Jesus was such that it would not let you believe he had risen unless you actually saw him and touched his wounds. But your love for Jesus
was equally great and it led you to give up your life for him. Pray for us that we may grieve for our sins which were the cause of Christ’s sufferings.
Help us to spend ourselves
in his service and so earn the title of “blessed” which Jesus applied to those who would believe
in him without seeing him. Amen.
Prayer to
Saint Veronica
O My Jesus, Saint Veronica served You on the way to Calvary by wiping Your beloved face with a towel on which Your sacred image then appeared.
She protected this treasure,
and whenever people touched it, they were miraculously healed.
I ask her to pray for the growth of my ability to see Your sacred image in others, to recognize their hurts,
to stop and join them on their difficult journeys, and to feel the same compassion for them as she did for You. Show me how to wipe their faces, serve their needs, and heal their wounds, reminding me that as I do this for them, I also do this for You.
Saint Veronica, pray for me. Amen.

A Marriage Blessing
We thank you, O God,
for the Love You
have implanted in our hearts. May it always inspire us to be kind in our words, considerate of feelings, and concerned
for each other’s needs and wishes. Help us to be understanding and forgiving
of human weaknesses and failings. Increase our Faith and Trust
in You and may Your Prudence guide our life and love.
Bless our Marriage, O God, with Peace and Happiness, and make our Love Fruitful for Your Glory and
our Joy both here and in eternity.
Prayer for the
Helpless Unborn
Heavenly Father, in Your love for us, protect against the wickedness of the devil, those helpless little ones to whom You have given the gift of life. Touch with pity the hearts of those women pregnant in our world today who are not thinking of motherhood. Help them to see that the child they carry is made in Your image - as well as theirs - made for eternal life.
Dispel their fear and selfishness and give them true womanly hearts to love their babies and give them birth and all the needed care that a mother alone can give. We ask this thorugh Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
